Beauty and the Beast is from the same team that brought you Dick Whittington - Directed by Helen Crosse and starring Welwyn Garden City's favourite Dame Michael Totton.  

Public performances run from Saturday 9 December until Sunday 31 December

School performances run from Friday 8 December until Friday 15 December.

Beauty and the Beast

Join us for a journey of enchantment and magic in one of the most loved fairy tales of all time. Who is the mysterious creature in the woods? Will Beauty overcome her fears? And will love conquer all?  Filled with music, mayhem, love and laughter this year’s pantomime is sure to warm your hearts and make your spirits soar.

Beauty and the Beast is one of the oldest and most loved fairy tales of all time. A beautiful young girl, devoted to her father, is held captive by a Beast in return for her father’s life. Will Beauty’s family and friends manage to save her from her mysterious captor? Will Beauty overcome her fears and manage to escape without angering the Beast? True love will find a way in this tale of love and laughter brought to you by the team that produced Dick Whittington.

There are 2 special adult-only performances on 28 & 29 December at 7.30pm!

About the Director

Helen Crosse is delighted to be back Directing 'Beauty and the Beast' after the success of 'Dick Whittington' last Christmas.  Helen was born and grew up in Welwyn Garden City, so she is very familiar with the area and the theatre. She is an award winning freelance Director who has been producing, directing, choreographing and acting in the business for the past 12 years.  She won 'Best Director' at the Stratford Fringe in 2014 and you may have seen one of her award winning shows 'Tales from the Willows', which toured nationally and was performed at the Hawthorne Theatre. She is known for directing classics and open air Shakespeare, as well as family theatre.

Helen spent many years in Panto herself including playing just about every Fairy, Slave of the Ring and Carabosse in 'Sleeping Beauty' here at CW Entertainment. Most recently Helen has been branching out into the Film and TV side of the industry, with several exciting projects in the pipeline. 

Helen is a lover of comedy, especially panto and she knows what it takes to make a successful family show. 'Beauty & the Beast' is one of her favourites and she can't wait to share in your excitement as you experience what is set to be a truly magical and extremely entertaining production!

  • The show time includes an interval of 20 minutes
  • Standard tickets are adult tickets, concession tickets are child/senior/student tickets
  • If you want to arrange a shout out during your performance for a special occasion, please find the usher at the Theatre entrance BEFORE the show starts, where you can put the details onto a form.  Sorry, but we cannot take shout out requests in advance of the performance date and we may not be able to include all requests during the performance
